Meursault 1er cru - Les Charmes
Origin
Located just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest white wine commune in the south of the Côte-d'Or. The "Golden Triangle" begins in Meursault, an area renowned for producing the best white wines and bounded by the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet.

According to Saint-Jacob, the word "Charmes" designates, in Burgundy, old common fields cultivated and returned to the "wasteland", which is also commonly called "thatch"; the origin of the name of this climat could also go back to the presence of wood of Charm.
The Meursault “Charmes” vineyard is located just south of the village and is recognized as one of the climates producing the finest wines of the appellation. The mineral and well-drained soil is ideal for Chardonnay.
